Pausing For Focus
I’ve decided to pause the newsletter. In short, I need to put all of my energy into music right now.
Longer Version
I recently started producing my first single. Last week, I shared my progress with my songwriting group. The positive reception highlighted how beneficial it is to focus solely on that project.
Writing a newsletter I'm proud to share requires a week of after-work focus. But shifting priorities in this way has begun to interrupt my momentum. So I need to pull my focus toward becoming proficient in production.
I still have more newsletter ideas than I know what to do with and no shortage of desire to write them. Overall, I’ve hesitated making this decision for two reasons:
- I love talking to ya’ll every month. Yes, I need to build an audience (blah, blah, blah) but I love this dedicated group and I’ll miss sending ya’ll something every 30 days.
- I’m proud of how consistently I've shared my writing in the last year. It’s also a great excuse to practice creative writing, which I worry I won’t do enough without this monthly practice.
So this pause is not something I’m taking lightly. And I do plan to return to a regular cadence in the future—though I’m not sure what or when that will be.
What To Expect Moving Forward
For now, I'll pop up when I have something I’m excited to share. Otherwise, my goal to release music early next year remains the same, so I hope you’ll stay tuned!
Otherwise, you can find me on Bluesky, occasionally on YouTube, and please always feel welcome to reach me at connerleemusic@gmail.com.
Thank You
Ya’ll are a mighty audience—this newsletter maintained a nearly 70% open rate for over a year. I’m incredibly appreciative to each of you.

Till next time—with love and badassery,
Conner
